The criteria for admission to Hello Teddy
We accept children from 2 years to 6 years age. We don´t demand knowledge of the English language. Younger children can be accepted to the kindergarten after agreement with our principal. The first criterion – we prefer to accept pre-schoolers. The second criterion – we prefer to accept siblings of children who already visit our kindergarten. The third criterion – we accept children all year long.
Hello Teddy Kindergarten Philosophy
We live in a world where everything is made for adults, but we can find an interesting place where everything is only for children. Hello Teddy Kindergarten is such a place! The Teddy bear lives there with a great group of children – TEDDIES. Our kindergarten continues to the Hello primary school.
Who can be a TEDDY?
Anyone who is 1 to 6 years old can become TEDDY. The children don´t have to speak English. Our kindergarten offers a programme for the children in Czech as well as in English language. The children learn this language all day through interesting activities.
Teddies in action
The children spend a lot of time in the kindergarten, so we want to make them happy. We play, sing, dance, paint, read, eat, sleep and speak with the children. All activities are accompanied by the English language. Teddies don´t sit at the table and drill new vocabulary. They practise their English while playing games, singing songs and making different arts and crafts. Everything must be fun not boring. Teddies can use all classrooms with different aids and games, and a lot of interesting places around the kindergarten such the theatre, the forest, the cinema, the ZOO, the riding-school or the playground.
Our areas
You can find our kindergarten in the primary school Fr. Fromana, Ostrava – Dubina where we have rented the rooms. The classrooms – you can find four classrooms with different furniture, aids and games and with a large playing area. The equipment is modern. There is a cloakroom and toilet. The kindergarten fulfills all hygienic norms. The garden – there is a large garden next to the kindergarten which contains a sandpit, monkey bars, benches, swings and a slide, a garden summerhouse with a table and other equipment for children. The school canteen – we use the school canteen to have lunch. There are our small tables and chairs for our Teddies. Because our kindergarten is in the primary school, we can use the gyms and the theatre.
Our timetable
The kindergarten is open Monday to Friday from 7.00 a.m. to 5.00 p.m. The children may arrive at the kindergarten from 7.00 a.m. to 10 p.m. The kindergarten offers two special programmes:
1. All day – from 7.00 a.m. to 5 p.m.
2. Half a day – from 7.00 a.m. to 1 p.m.
The school year starts in September and ends in June.
Our kindergarten offers summer camps.
The meal time
Our kindergarten uses the school canteen. The meal is prepared by trained cooks. The meal is healthy, balanced, varied, and meets the requirements for the healthy development of pre-schoolers. Parents can choose lunch and two snacks for their children. Drinks (tea, juice, water) are provided throughout the day. Children go to the school canteen only for lunch. There is special equipment for them (the small chairs and the small tables). The snacks are served in the classrooms. The price for each child is:
1. All day meal – 31,- Kč/a day
2. Half a day meal (snack and lunch) – 23,-Kč/a day
What do Teddies need before they come to our kindergarten?
- Clothes and shoes for the classroom and the gym
- Clothes and shoes for playtime in the garden
- Pyjamas – only for Little Teddies
- A cup, toothbrush and toothpaste
- A cup for drinking – suitable for a dishwasher
- A pillow
- A copy of the insurance card
